Thank-A-Teacher

Through the Thank‑A‑Teacher program, students across the university can share messages of gratitude with the faculty, instructors, graduate teaching assistants, and staff who have inspired or supported their learning. Since the program launched in May 2021, Stony Brook students have submitted more than 8,000 notes of appreciation, recognizing over 3,000 educators for their meaningful contributions.

All messages celebrating positive educational experiences are compiled and delivered to educators at the end of the spring semester. Faculty and staff who receive notes are encouraged to treat them as official university communication and may include them in teaching portfolios, annual reviews, or other professional materials.
