WE'RE HERE FOR YOU!
Established in 1965, the Stony Brook University Alumni Association is a separate, 501(c)(3) organization. Our activities are administered by the Stony Brook University Alumni Relations staff under the direction of the Stony Brook University Alumni Association Board of Directors and the Stony Brook University Advancement office.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Stony Brook Alumni Association seeks to reach, serve and engage all Stony Brook alumni, students and other constituencies to foster a lifelong intellectual and emotional connection between the University and its graduates, and to provide the University with goodwill and support.
Students and alumni will see the leaders that were educated at Stony Brook as role models.

Stony Brook University alumni are a proud and engaged community that serves and supports the University, celebrates the achievements of students, faculty and fellow alumni, and works tirelessly to ensure that Stony Brook University stands with the finest universities in the world.
WHAT WE DO
The Office of Alumni Relations works collaboratively with the Alumni Association and is committed to helping you sustain a life long and meaningful relationship with Stony Brook University. We strive to offer you valuable benefits and services, alumni volunteer opportunities and engaging experiences around the globe to keep you close to your alma mater.
On this website and in Stony Brook Matters, our monthly e-newsletter, you’ll read about many of Stony Brook’s over 240,000 alumni who have distinguished themselves in virtually every field, profession and industry. We also sponsor many Stony Brook annual traditions including Homecoming weekend, the Stony Brook Alumni Association Scholarship Golf Classic, and dozens of enriching workshops, social networking events and other alumni-exclusive events.
Many of our accomplished alumni also donate their time, talents and resources to helping current Stony Brook students get the most out of their college experience.

Find out firsthand just how rewarding it can be to serve as a volunteer on an Alumni Association committee. Your experience with the Alumni Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, lets you hone skills transferable to your profession and volunteer opportunities elsewhere.
REMOTE OPPORTUNITIES
Don't live near campus? No problem. Many of our volunteers live across the country and around the world. Unless otherwise noted, committee membership is open to all alumni, as well as interested University faculty, staff, and students, pending approval by the Alumni Association President.
