AI Quick Tips

Have an AI syllabus statement!
Including an AI statement in your syllabus starts the AI conversation early on in the semester. We also recommend letting students know if you will be using AI throughout the semester and what that might look like.
In this statement, you have the opportunity to let students know whether AI is allowed, restricted, or probibited as well as why. Including examples can really help students understand your policies and the impact that AI can have on the course.
We also recommend specifying on your assignment descriptions whether AI is permitted or not so that students can be aware as they are working on each assignment. This is helpful especially if restrictions may change between assignments throughout the course.
