The Environmental Design, Policy, and Planning (EDP) major, leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree, prepares students to understand and address the complexities of urban development and governance including topics like land use policy, transportation planning, and climate change adaptation. The interdisciplinary and hands-on curriculum integrates principles and methodologies from the social sciences, natural sciences, and humanities. Students learn how to address the challenging scientific, legal, ethical, political, environmental, and socio-economic issues related to design and management of the built environment of cities, towns, and suburbs.
