If you would like to change your email address, here are the steps you will need to take to ensure our records are updated as well...
CHANGING YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS
Go to SOLAR -> Security and Personal Data -> Email Addresses to ensure your personal email address is updated in our campus system of records. For more helpful information on how to do this, go here.
CHANGING YOUR CAMPUS EMAIL ADDRESS
GOOGLE MAIL
Provided Peoplesoft has been updated with the new name as noted here — If you would also like your campus email to reflect this new legal name change, you must
→ Go to https://it.stonybrook.edu/ (Accounts & Passwords -> Request Name or ID Change ->Google E-Mail) to open a ticket with DoIT to request to have your Campus @stonybrook.edu email updated. Questions? Email caccount@stonybrook.edu.
→ If you also have an East Campus @stonybrookmedicine.edu email account, you must also call the UHMC Help Desk @ 631-444-4357 to have that email account updated as well.
PLEASE BE AWARE
Over the last few years, DoIT has partnered with the campus community to intensify efforts to provide as much flexibility as possible regarding name changes in University systems. However, under some circumstances, changing your NetID and/or [CAMPUS] email address may result in the creation of a new account, leading to loss of access to services, data, activity history, and shared content.
A Few Examples:
- In Zoom, recurring meetings, and historical activity would be lost
- Temporary loss of access to systems as they synchronize
- Loss of data in SB-You blogs and Digication
- If you are staff, a loss of your computer profile
- Loss of data and history in Wolfmart
