Douglas Hong is a Ph.D. candidate in Cultural Studies at Stony Brook University. His current research is on the documentary aesthetics of multimodal works by Claudia Rankine, Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, and W. G. Sebald and their role in mediating the readers' relationship to histories of political conflict.
