Mascot Madness
Wolfie is the two-time defending champion of SUNY Mascot Madness, defeating all challengers in 2023 and 2022.
Wolfie defeated Oakie the Acorn of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in the 2023 finals, after dispatching Red of SUNY Oneonta, Perseus of Purchase College, Pawz of Corning CC, and Mo the Mustang of SUNY Morrisville.
Wolfie also defeated Oakie in the finals in 2022 to win his first Mascot Madness title. Wolfie's relentless march to the top included victories over Fulton-Montgomery CC’s Reggie the Raider, Ram-Bo from Farmingdale State, Mo the Mustang, and Hugo the Hawk from SUNY New Paltz.
Mascot Madness is the annual competition that brings SUNY mascots together in a competition to find out who the fans feel is the best in all of New York.
Over the past decade, the tournament has grown in its size and reach. Similar to the
annual NCAA March Madness basketball tournament, Mascot Madness is broken down into
five rounds, with mascots battling each other for fan votes. The one with the most
votes survives and advances to the next round.
