    About the Program

    Founded in 1948, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) is located in Wuhan, a metropolis of Central China. It is an institution of higher education under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China with economics, law, and management as its core disciplines. These are coordinated with the development of eight other disciplines including literature, history, philosophy, engineering, etc. ZUEL is also one of the universities sponsored by “211 project”, which is the Chinese government's new endeavor aimed at strengthening about 100 institutions of higher education and key disciplinary areas as a national priority for the 21st century.

    Additional Information A Partner University program is a study abroad experience where students are nominated/accepted by Stony Brook University, and enroll at a partner institution. In most cases SBU faculty or staff are NOT traveling with participants.
    Program Housing Statement: Stony Brook University is required to comply with the housing policies of the host country, partner institution and/or hotel/hostel. These policies may include requirements such as sex-based housing placement.

    All participants following the Stony Brook Curriculum (SBC) will fulfill GLO and EXP+ in addition to requirement(s) fulfilled by their coursework.

    SBU Equivalency: PHI 103 Philosophic Problems (II) (DEC: B, SBC: HUM, 3 credits)

    Course at ZUEL: Financial Accounting

    SBU Equivalency: ACC 210 Financial Accounting (3 credits)

    Course at ZUEL: Mathematical Statistics

    SBU Equivalency: AMS 412 Mathematical Statistics (SBC: CER, ESI, EXP+, 3 credits)

    Course at ZUEL: Money and Banking

    SBU Equivalency: ECO 360 Money and Banking (3 credits)

    Course at ZUEL: Corporate Finance

    SBU Equivalency: ECO 389 Corporate Finance (3 credits)

    This is a Partner University program. Applications must be submitted to Stony Brook University first. Information regarding the next steps in the process will be distributed to students who have received formal nominations by their Exchange Advisor.

    • Grades earned in a Partner University program WILL NOT calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.
    • Non-SBU students must contact their home university regarding their grade and credit transfer policy.
    • All participants following the Stony Brook Curriculum (SBC) will receive GLO and EXP+ in addition to requirements fulfilled by their coursework.
