Be Active
Recreation and Wellness coordinate many programs for the University community, including intramural sports, wellness programs, sport clubs, informal open recreation, special events, and equipment rentals. Participation in intramural sports, fitness activity classes and recreational programs is a great way to relieve stress, meet people and live an active lifestyle.
Intramural
All SBU students, faculty and staff are eligible for participation with a Campus Recreation Membership. Individuals as well as teams are encouraged to participate in intramurals.
Teams are usually formed from residence halls, Greek organizations, student organizations, and often simply groups of friends.
Fitness
The Stony Brook Fitness & Wellness program provides programs and services to help you achieve your health and fitness goals including a variety of group fitness classes each week, educational sessions, wellness workshops, strength training clinics, collaborative nutritional programs and many other special fitness events.
Sport Clubs
With over 40 sport clubs and over 1,100 participants, there are opportunities to meet new people, try new sports, and be active doing something they love.
Sport clubs are open to all students and range from simple informal practices to participation in games off-campus.
