Wendy Rhodes is a lecturer at the School of Communication and Journalism. She previously taught at Florida Atlantic University and currently works as a freelance multimedia journalist. 

A former investigative reporter for the USA TODAY Network, her work has been published internationally and she has guested on television and radio programs worldwide. She has twice been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. The first, in 2022, was for her onsite coverage of the collapse of Champlain Towers South in Surfside, Fla. which killed 98 people. The second, in 2023, was for a multi-year investigation into antidepressant-induced violence. She has won multiple awards, including from The Society for Professional Journalists, Florida Society of News Editors, Gannett and others. 

Wendy earned a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University in New York and holds undergraduate degrees in Multimedia Journalism and English Education. She also holds a certificate in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
