Best Known for his irrelevant writing handbook “Pity the Poor Reader,” Charles Haddad
has also written three middle-age reader novels and four adult novels. He also teaches
narrative nonfiction writing and journalism at Stony Brook University. Previously,
he worked 25 years as a journalist, covering some of the biggest financial scandals
of the early 2000s while at BusinessWeek magazine. While not a scholar, Haddad’s work
has been highly influential in academia. Some of his most significant stories are
used as case studies in law and business schools nationwide. His work has also been
included in several academic readers and cited often in scholarly research.
