Immune-Boosting Shot
With consistently frigid temperatures outside, now is the time to protect your immune system so that you can stay healthy and illness-free all season. Whip up this "shot" for a quick immune boost! Shared by Paula Montagna, MS, RD, CDN, Clinical Nutrition Manager at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. Recipe adapted from stepintomygreenworld.com and Glow by Popsugar.
Ingredients
• 1/2 inch fresh ginger, peeled and grated
• 1 garlic clove, crushed
• 2 tablespoons Manuka/raw honey
• 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
• 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
• 1/4 cup water
• 1/4 teaspoon fresh lime juice
• Big pinch of dried turmeric
• Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions:
- Whisk all ingredients in bowl
- Pour into a small glass or shot glass
- Enjoy!
