Dare to Belong
At Stony Brook University, we are fortunate to have a dynamic community of students, faculty, clinicians and staff committed to innovative ideas, high-quality research and next-level care. Our collection of backgrounds, beliefs, viewpoints and experiences allows us to see new opportunities together even when we don’t see eye to eye.
This richness of perspectives in our community is what will help us navigate the changing landscape we currently journey through. When we hold on to our shared values of respect, collaboration and community, we all can confidently bring our whole selves to the table.
While there may be some changes in the coming months, our team in the DI3 is unwavering in our commitment to these values. Our mission remains the same: to provide programming and support with the broadest possible access, ensuring that every Seawolf, regardless of their background, has the resources they need to achieve excellence.
This moment is an invitation to step back and reflect on where we’ve come as a community and where we can dare to go together. The connections and programs we’ve built have changed our community for the better in many ways. However, we can also examine what may need to continue evolving. Our team is daring to be innovative, reviewing what has worked and what our community says it still needs so that every person at Stony Brook can grow.
Remember, Seawolves are better when they rely on their pack. We must all dare to stay connected, dare to try new things and dare to help each other achieve our goals.
And, most importantly, we must dare to belong to this community.
