Message from the Dean
Welcome to the College of Business at Stony Brook University – a leader in promoting social mobility. Located on Long Island, approximately an
hour away from New York City, Stony Brook University is part of the State University
of New York (SUNY) system and is designated as New York's flagship and No. 1 public
university.
The College of Business is dedicated to fostering a community of scholars, innovators,
and leaders who make a positive impact on practice and in the community. As the Interim
Dean, I am delighted to lead this dynamic college, working alongside a dedicated team
of faculty and staff who are passionate about providing an exceptional educational
experience. Our Strategic Plan (2024–2029), Growth with Reputation, underscores our commitment to making a meaningful and lasting impact on our students,
the business community, and the broader society.
Academic Programs and Curriculum
The College of Business offers a diverse range of STEM-focused graduate and undergraduate
programs that blend rigorous academic instruction with real-world experiential learning.
- The programs equip students with the business acumen and skills needed to excel in their chosen field, covering areas such as accounting, analytics, entrepreneurship, finance, management, marketing, or operations & supply chain management.
- The curriculum emphasizes a dynamic learning experience through a combination of classroom
learning, internships, and experiential projects, ensuring students are well-prepared
for new challenges and opportunities in their careers.
Excellence in Research, Teaching, and Global Engagement
Our faculty remains at the forefront of cutting-edge research. Our faculty also serve in prominent leadership and editorial positions and pursue impactful research with an interdisciplinary focus to address the complex challenges facing businesses today. This spirit of inquiry translates directly into the classroom, enriching students’ learning experiences and preparing them to be ethical problem solvers. Our staff is committed to ensuring a rewarding student experience and dedicated to supporting their academic and personal outcomes.
Furthermore, the college is expanding its partnerships, including with SUNY Korea—the first American university in Korea—and Seoul Business School at aSSIST.
