Accelerated BE/MS: Financial Support

Stony Brook University is committed to providing accessible and affordable graduate education, with tuition and fees among the lowest of any US university. For the most current information, please visit the Tuition and Fee Rates provided by Student Financial Services. Limited financial assistance may be available in special cases through Research Project Assistantships (RPAs), which are awarded at the discretion of individual faculty members based on research needs and funding availability.

The Department of Civil Engineering does not typically offer financial support for MS students. The department has one merit-based scholarship (Gateway Scholarship). The scholarship will enable students to begin research with a faculty member early in student's graduate career with the additional opportunity of linking graduate education with an industry engineering experience.

External funding options, including loans, student employment opportunities, and other resources, are available to help cover the cost of education. For more details, visit Tuition and FundingFinancial Aid, and Student Employment. While students may contact faculty to inquire about potential assistantship opportunities, such positions are highly competitive, and responses are not guaranteed. Applicants are encouraged to explore multiple funding options and plan accordingly.
