Ameem Khan

Ameem’s journey at Stony Brook highlights the impact of mentorship, perseverance, and opportunity. After beginning with little programming experience, mentorship from Professor Chen—whom he met through the IEEE Professor Mixer—helped him build confidence and strengthen his skills. He went on to participate in the Department of Energy’s SULI program, gaining valuable research experience. After earning his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering, Ameem chose to continue at Stony Brook as a master’s student, demonstrating how the university’s supportive academic community prepares students for continued success in engineering and beyond.
