Jorge Cruz Ibarra is an educator and social scientist. He is a lecturer in the Department of Communication at Stony Brook University. He obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. in Communication from Ohio State. 

Jorge’s teaching focuses on communication theory and research methods, and he is passionate about creating supportive, engaging learning experiences that make complex ideas accessible and meaningful. His research explores message processing, emotion, and political communication, with an emphasis on how anger influences the interpretation of populist and other political messages.
