Mac OS X: Essential Applications

My (still unnamed) MacBook enjoys running the following applications.

Free software:

Firefox
The best web browser. I am morally opposed to the use of anything else.

TeXShop
LaTeX compiler. Simple and splendid. Can't get some of my image packages to work, though (that's my own failure, not that of the program).

Seashore
More advanced than M$'s Paint, but not as fancy as GIMP or Photoshop. Cute fish logo.

Open Office
Freedom from M$ Office! Requires X11 (install from your OS X disk)...at least until the Aqua release.

NeoOffice
Open Office without the X11.

Not free software:

Mathematica
Essential to life as a physicist. If you learn one program, learn this. Michael Berry himself uses Mathematica!!
