FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIPS

All incoming freshmen are considered for merit-based scholarships, and the majority of these scholarships require no special applications. All admitted first-time freshmen students who are academically qualified are automatically reviewed for scholarship eligibility.

 

 

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

There are a variety of scholarship opportunities specifically for Stony Brook students, as well as other scholarships offered through academic departments. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services also administers scholarship opportunities for continuing students via Scholarship Universe, a matching tool based upon student's personalized profiles.

 

 

GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Graduate tuition scholarships (GTS) may be awarded to cover all or partial tuition charges. The Graduate School offers highly competitive funding opportunities for doctoral study, and enrolled students can compete for a variety of other fellowships and awards.

 

 

VETERANS AWARDS

Students can contact Stony Brook’s Office of Veterans Affairs for benefits under any of the VA educational assistance programs. Veteran Awards administered through the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC): Child of Veteran, Persian Gulf Veterans Tuition Award and Vietnam Veterans Tuition Award.

 

 

DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS

Stony Brook offers a number of scholarships for students from diverse backgrounds, including the Stony Brook Simons STEM Scholars Program, the Empire State Diversity Honors Scholarship, and others.
