Biography
Dr. Waltzer was a member of the original team that performed the first kidney transplant on Long Island. He has expertise in urologic oncology, including kidney, bladder, and prostate cancer as well as kidney transplantation. Dr. Waltzer promotes clinical research in urology at Stony Brook and participates in multidisciplinary Tumor Board meetings to provide comprehensive care for patients with cancer by combining the expertise of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists.
The Department of Urology has developed a robust residency program under the guidance of Dr. Waltzer. The program aims to prepare resident graduates with the knowledge and skills to successfully achieve certification by the American Board of Urology and to provide contemporary state-of-the-art patient care throughout their careers.
