Biography
Using the chemical composition of sedimentary rock and laboratory experiments that simulate a variety of sedimentary processes, Scott McLennan traces the evolution of the surfaces of both Earth and Mars. He has been a member of the science teams for the Mars rover and orbital missions, and he currently evaluates the chemical and mineralogical composition of Martian surface materials for NASA based on the return data from these missions.
