Biography
Patricia A. Dunn has taught courses in the teaching of writing, English education, and disability studies. Her classes focus on empowering writers through real-world projects and multimodal ways of generating text, responding to drafts, and revising.
She has published numerous articles and five books, the first two republished and now online for free at the WAC Clearinghouse: Learning Re-Abled The Learning Disability Controversy and Composition Studies; Talking, Sketching, Moving: Multiple Literacies in the Teaching of Writing; Grammar Rants [with Ken Lindblom]: How a Backstage Tour of Writing Complaints Can Help Students Make Informed, Savvy Choices About Their Writing; and Disabling Characters: Representations of Disability in Young Adult Literature. Her latest book is Drawing Conclusions: Using Visual Thinking to Understand Complex Concepts in the Classroom (2021).
