Biography
Olivier Martin is a Simons Instructor in the Department of Mathematics at Stony Brook
University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2020 with a thesis
titled “Zero-cycles and measures of irrationality for abelian varieties”. His research
interests are in algebraic geometry and include algebraic cycles, birational geometry,
and K-trivial varieties. His past work focused on zero-cycles on complex abelian varieties
with a view towards lower bounds on measures of irrationality for abelian varieties
and their subvarieties.
