Biography

Dr. Lindenfeld's research focuses on how we can advance meaningful, productive interactions with communities and decision-makers by strongly linking knowledge and action. Much of her work has focused on studying how to build, engage, and assess these collaborative partnerships around sustainability and environmental issues. She is one of the leading prominent scholars advocating for listening to and engaging local community members and other stakeholders before, during and after the design and implementation of research projects. She came to environmental and science communication through her examinations of food as a core component of cultural and societal expression. Her work has appeared in a range of journals, and her book on food media was published by Columbia University Press.
