Biography

Kathleen Wilson is an internationally-known historian and scholar in the field of British history, the British empire, and international workings of empire. In addition to numerous peer-reviewed articles, she has written several books including Strolling Players of Empire: Theatre, Culture and Modernity in the English Provinces, which explores the politics of theatrical performances and colonial rule in sites across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Ocean worlds (Cambridge University Press, 2016). Kathleen has also been awarded fellowships from the John Simon Memorial Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Council of Learned Societies, and the Huntington Library, among others.
