Biography
Giancarlo La Camera studies the neural basis of cognitive function with a combined theoretical and experimental approach. He builds mathematical models of cognitive processes such as learning and decision-making, which he then uses to guide the analysis of existing data or to design new experiments. He is especially interested in how the activity internally generated by the brain is combined with the neural activity produced by external stimuli to give rise to learning and behavior.
