Biography
Andreas Koenig’s research focuses on the behavior and ecology of nonhuman primates. He is particularly interested in how social behavior, such as cooperation and competition, evolved, and what costs and benefits individuals face when living in groups. Additionally, he researches how behavior, morphology, and physiology affect access to potential mates, as well as the timing of key events that occur in the individuals’ lifetimes. He has conducted fieldwork with wild primates in Asia, particularly Nepal and Thailand.
