Dr. Andrew Engelhardt joined the Stony Brook University political science department in Fall 2023. He studies U.S. politics with a focus on explaining individuals’ political thinking and how people learn about, and react to, racial and ethnic difference. He applies these insights, in part, to public opinion trends and the conduct of political campaigns to understand challenges facing multi-racial democracy in the United State.
