Financial Concerns
The Student Support Team assists students with financial issues, particularly as circumstances impact their academic progress.
We try to ensure that students are aware of resources to preserve and support their financial stability. If you are experiencing an acute crisis that has or could adversely impact your ability to make continued progress toward attaining your degree, contact our team at student_supportteam@stonybrook.edu.
SBU students in need of a laptop can request to borrow one through the Laptop Loan Program For Students.
We are a proud supporter of the SBU Food Pantry which provides food items for food-insecure students, staff, and faculty on Stony Brook’s campus.
Students may also consider working part-time to offset some of their educational expenses. The Stony Brook University Career Center can provide assistance with on or off-campus employment opportunities.
For questions specifically related to a student’s financial aid package, including loans, scholarships and grants, they should contact the Office of Financial Aid directly. All students will benefit by being a Money Smart Seawolf!
