Summer Optional Virtual Sessions
Welcome to Stony Brook, new Seawolves and families!
We know you may have many questions regarding your upcoming college journey and Stony Brook. The Division of Student Affairs has created a series of optional virtual sessions to help guide students and families and inform you about the resources and services we have available for you.
We have sessions available on almost every topic. Just enter text in the 'filter list' field below, and the filter will yield search results for the content you’re looking for. Some sessions are geared towards students, others for parents and families, many for both.
Every session will be conducted in a virtual environment, either via Zoom or other virtual platforms. A few are asynchronous which means you can watch them at your leisure. After you register, you will receive an email from the session organizer 24 hours before the scheduled session with instructions on how to participate.
All times are Eastern Time (UTC/GMT-04:00).
Please note that participation in these sessions is optional, and does not fulfill Opening Weekend requirements.

Meet Up: Spill The Tea with SASC
The brand new piping-hot afternoon Zoom hangout you didn’t know you needed! SASC stands for Student Accessibility Support Center and we are the office on campus that ensures students with disabilities receive the accommodations they need for their time as a Seawolf. Your favorite SASC characters will all be in one (virtual) place, spilling the tea on the ins and outs of our office and answering your smoldering questions. We promise to dish the deets on what SASC is all about, from our process to accommodations and everything in between. In order to keep our tea party neat and tidy, feel free to submit any questions in the chat throughout the session. This way we can ensure that we get to all questions and reduce any spillage (of time). So, grab a mug, open your laptop, and come join us for a SASC afternoon!
