Places and Spaces
The Student Affairs places and spaces at Stony Brook University are dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive student life community and to provide opportunities for students to engage in various learning and social activities.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES CENTER
Located on the academic mall, the Student Activities Center is the hub of student life on campus. The building serves as a venue for events such as student programming, lectures, conferences, movies, concerts and more.

STONY BROOK UNION
Since 1970, the Stony Brook Union has served as a student-centered facility. The newly renovated building now offers a variety of services including a home of centralized services, the Club Lounge, a brand new E-Sports facility with recreation games, the new Interfaith Center for religious activities on campus, and more.

BAUMAN CENTER FOR LEADERSHIP & SERVICE
The Bauman Center for Leadership and Service, located in H-Quad, is the main site of activities and events for the Undergraduate College of Leadership and Service. The multipurpose room can accommodate more than 600 people and is often used for club events and gatherings.

ALAN S. DEVRIES
The Human Development and Center for Global Studies is the main site for all HDV and GLS activities and events. Located in the new residence hall, the multipurpose space is used for events and gatherings for which it can accommodate up to 250 people.

LGBTQ* CENTER
The LGBTQ* Center provides an open and inclusive environment for the LGBTQ* community at Stony Brook, featuring multipurpose lounges, a collaborative learning area as well as a spacious conference workroom for students seeking community or support.

UNITI CULTURAL CENTER
The UNITI Cultural Center is a facility on campus that aims to promote cultural diversity and inclusion. The UCC offers opportunities for students to learn about Stony Brook's multicultural campus community.

The Tabler Arts Center serves as a performance space for theater, dance, music, art, and is devoted to undergraduate work spaces with practice rooms, a digital arts laboratory as well as a conference hall and classroom.

Our newly renovated meditation room, located in the Student Activities Center, brings a peaceful space to campus to help members of our community destress and recharge.

The Sensory Space holds a variety of options for students to manage their sensory inputs. It's a great space to relax and study. The Sensory Space is available for all Stony Brook Students, regardless of their affiliation with SASC.
