Biography:

In Elias' time at Stony Brook, they plan on studying the combination of synthetic biomaterials to neural pathways and muscular interfaces to help the lives of those who have been affected by the loss of parts of their body. In Elias' free time, they cook, bake, fence, and play viola, basketball, tennis, badminton, and brawl stars.

Leading the Future:

"I see myself in the future of STEM pursuing accessibility in regenerative medicine for those whose lives have been impaired by the tragedy of injury. I want to lead the future by inspiring others to follow suit with the same goal through my actions."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"The sheer amount of support shown to the scholars here at the program made me choose this program over any other because it is truly one of a kind. Everyone here is treated like family, with only the best and most passionate faculty here to help the scholars pursue their research interests and academic goals."

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

"Take the risk of applying. Even if you are unsure that research is your goal, the experiences you will gain here will have you interested in researching things you didn't even know existed."
