Biography:

Nic plans on studying reptiles and amphibians brains as well as factors that affect their development in their time at Stony Brook. In their free time, Nic likes to cook, read self development books, play video games, and play basketball. Before becoming a Simons STEM Scholar, Nic did not participate in research. Nic is most excited to conduct research with animals, and build connections.

Leading the Future:

"I envision myself helping being a leader in helping to further raise concerns about animal welfare and help bring about more conservative efforts that will help to protect the overall environment."

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

"I chose to become a Simons STEM Scholar because I envisioned that this program will help me to connect with valuable people that will help me to become the best possible version of myself, discover my passion for conducting research, and help me to become more disciplined with both my academic and personal life."

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

“I would say go for it as it is a life changing program that can help you become the best possible version of yourself and make valuable connections that will benefit you and others in the future.”
