Biography:

Jason plans on studying particulate matter (air pollution), oyster populations, and fish populations in fisheries in their time at Stony Brook. In their free time, Jason likes nature walks, playing badminton, boxing and video games. Before becoming a Simons STEM Scholar, Jason participated in BioBus, Deliotte, and Mr. Tuthill's Technology Club. Jason is most excited about seeing the influence he can directly have on Stony Brook as a University and on the students around it.

Leading the Future:

“I envision myself being a leader in closing the gap between the environment and technology.”

Why did you become a Simons STEM Scholar?:

“I choose to become a Simons STEM Scholar so I can leave something meaningful behind.”

What would you say to someone who is applying?:

“It does not matter what classes you took, what your GPA is, or how much of an extrovert you are. Just apply anyway because you never know.”
