Assistant Director of Research Development
The Assistant Director of Research Development will provide leadership and strategic support for research development priorities at Stony Brook University. The Assistant Director will also provide oversight and training of the research development staff with the goal of increasing University research expenditures. We seek a solution-driven professional who has strong project management or research experience and knowledge of externally sponsored awards. The successful incumbent will be proactive and creative, with a strong customer service ethic and excellent oral/written communication skills. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate will have team building and supervisory experience.
Grant Proposal Development Specialist (Remote/Hybrid)
The Grant Proposal Development Specialist (PDS), is a unique position supporting Principal Investigators and research teams across campus with the development of their grant applications to external sponsors, focusing primarily on large, complex proposals to federal sponsors. The Grant Proposal Development Specialist will serve as the administrative lead throughout the development process, and be responsible for all proposal components.
Administrative Coordinator
The Administrative Coordinatorwill provide administrative support as a key member of both the Office of Proposal Development (OPD) team and the newly formed Office of Research Development (ORD), assisting with a wide range of activities to support research development. The incumbent will provide administrative support to office operations and the Senior Associate Vice President for Research (SAVPR). The Administrative Coordinator will support the planning and execution of live and virtual events for the Office of Proposal Development and the Office of Research Development.
Licensing Associate
The Licensing Associate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of technologies, including identifying, evaluating, marketing and licensing inventions and software developed by SUNY and Research Foundation faculty and staff. The incumbent is responsible for such activities being conducted under the optimal financial and legal conditions and in compliance with the SUNY patent policy and sponsor regulations. Ideally, the successful incumbent must have a proven track record of successfully negotiating intellectual property license agreements, other complex agreements (sponsored research agreements, collaboration agreements or other complex agreements) and demonstrated experience drafting and reviewing contracts.
