About the Greene Institute

The Greene Institute was founded in 2009 to honor Robert W. Greene, a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter who worked for Newsday for nearly 40 years.

Through a generous donation from supporters of the Greene Institute, Stony Brook’s School of Communication and Journalism may provide eligible students limited scholarships to offset program costs.
