As we prepare to welcome back our students in August, our return to the workplace timeline is as follows:
• The Telecommuting MOU between the unions and NY State, which provided a framework for temporary remote work, expired on Friday, July 2.
• By August 1, all staff should be fully returned to their regular campus workplace.
Recent State guidance provides discretion to allow for limited telecommuting under certain circumstances to continue through September 7 where it makes operational sense to do so. During this period, your supervisor, in conjunction with your area's Dean/VP and HRS, may consider individual short-term requests to work remotely due to childcare issues, elder issues or other COVID-related matters. Such an extension is intended to provide an opportunity to finalize plans for a full return to the workplace. Requests based on medical issues should be made to the Office of Equity and Access.
For those who are granted an extension for a limited period, that extension should be documented by completing or updating the the Telecommuting Request Form, and returning the form by email to HRS_Telecommuting@stonybrook.edu
