Affirmation Reminder

As employees across the University are returning to the physical workplace, we want to take this opportunity to remind you of a required action item.

Governor’s Office of Employee Relations (GOER) Required Affirmation

On June 23 and July 2, we shared an update highlighting new COVID protocols from GOER and requiring that all State employees in the workplace affirm they have read and understand their obligation to follow the revised guidance and its provisions. If you have not yet returned to the workplace the requirement is to complete the affirmation within three days of returning.

Our records show that as of today, you have not completed the required affirmation. To ensure compliance, you must immediately review and complete this document.

Please note those who work in healthcare settings must continue to wear PPE as prescribed by your position, and follow other guidelines that are specific to healthcare settings. Please also note that as of August 3 through September 7, the University is requiring all individuals, whether vaccinated or not, to mask indoors (which is not reflected in the affirmation).

How to Access the Guidelines and Affirm

Step 1: To access the full guidelines in GOER’s Revised Guidance for State Agencies and Authorities During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, go to ⇒ SOLAR ⇒ COVID-19 ⇒ COVID-19 Affirmation Document.

Step 2: After reading the document, check the completion box and save to affirm you have read the document and understand your obligation to follow the guidance and its provisions. For more detailed instructions, visit Revised Workplace Guidance- Instructions.

On behalf of the University, we want to thank you for completing the affirmation and for your participation in efforts to support the well-being of our campus community. Be sure to also visit HR Forward and Stony Brook’sStronger Together website for current updates and FAQs about all return-to-campus planning for Fall 2021 – and beyond.
