Outreach
Women In Science and Engineering (WISE) Honors
WISE seeks to increase the number of individuals from various underrepresented groups in science, math and engineering fields through outreach, recruitment and retention efforts. As part of WISE, students learn about and participate in opportunities for internships and research. Faculty are key contributors to the program as mentors and role models for the students.
Center for Inclusive Education (CIE)
The CIE is committed to advancing diversity in graduate research and education and works to recruit, retain, and graduate underrepresented minority and otherwise disadvantaged scholars, as well as those scholars who advance the mission of increasing diversity of their respective fields.
URECA
URECA provides support to SB students engaged in faculty-mentored research and/or creative activities in all disciplines. Students are encouraged to apply for:
- URECA Summer (applications due mid-March) and/or Explorations in STEM: a URECA-Career Center program (applications due mid-March)
- URECA Small/Travel Grants (applications accepted all year round)
- The Jane & Armando Jannelli-URECA Award for research projects at the intersection of Business and Philosophy (deadline 12/1/21)
Faculty mentors are critical to the success of the URECA program. If you are willing to supervise an undergraduate, and are looking for students, please contact the URECA Office. They would be happy to post opportunities for supervised research and creative activity on their website, and to remove the posting as soon as you choose.
