Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Clinical Instructor
Required Qualifications
Current NYS RN licensure. Master's Degree in Nursing.
For Physician Assistant:
Bachelor's Degree from an approved US Physician Assistant Program.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with end stage renal disease (ESRD); experience with pre-and post-operative
care of kidney transplant patients; critical care experience; management of patients
with co-morbidities; knowledge of PowerChart, Microsoft Word, Excel.

Responsibilities & Requirements
Duties may include the following, but are not limited to:
- Performing pre-transplant health and physicals for evaluation of potential kidney transplant candidates; providing education to patients.
- Routine follow-up and management of post-transplant patients in the hospital and post-transplant clinic.
- Triage patient calls and provide medical advice/direction as necessary.
- Prescription refills for post-transplant patients.
- Management of kidney transplant patients during initial transplant admission as well as re-admissions.
- Scheduling transplant biopsies, ultrasounds, IVIG, plasmapheresis.
- Review test results, lab reports, and consults to assist in patient management for transplant wait list.
Special Notes
This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: 8/11/18.
