Lecturer, Part Time (.5 FTE) 12 month, Director, Biology Online

Required Qualifications

PhD in Biochemistry or related field in biological sciences. At least two (2) years of experience teaching college level biology and/or biochemistry courses.  Ability to design and build learning assets utilizing technology in an online teaching environment. Ability to work  a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend assignments during the summer term.  Familiar with online course pedagogy. Experience managing a financial budget. Experience managing support personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching large enrollment biology courses with a team teaching and interactive approach.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The candidate will be responsible for the administration of the biology online program including planning, developing, co-teaching, and administering our online biology courses and the online learning assets in our large live lecture courses, including managing support personnel.  The candidate will manage the budget and supervise and assist instructional support personnel including employees, graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants.

Special Notes

This is a non-tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.  Anticipated Start Date: March 1, 2020
