Assistant/Associate/Full Professor
Required Qualifications
A PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field is required at
the time of employment. The successful candidate must have strong commitment to undergraduate
and graduate teaching, and the potential for establishing an externally funded research
program. Candidates for the rank of Associate or Full Professor should have distinguished
records of research and educational activities including a strong and diverse funding
history.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates in the thermal science area. Candidates with expertise in power generation
and propulsion systems with emphasis on internal combustion engines, experimental
combustion with conventional and alternative fuels, combustion diagnostics, and automotive
engineering. Expertise in powertrain control and connected and autonomous vehicles
is also desirable.
Responsibilities & Requirements

level, exceptional candidates may be considered at the Associate or Full Professor
level as well. The successful candidate must have the potential to establish an externally
funded research program and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching.

Special Notes
This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime
provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: Spring 2020 or Fall 2020.
