Did you know that Stony Brook has an Employee Assistance Program?
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is here to support you when you need it most. We understand that work-related stress and personal challenges can sometimes affect your well-being, and our EAP is designed to provide you with confidential and professional support to help you navigate through any difficult times.
Our EAP offers a wide range of services, including (but not limited to):
1. Assessment and Referral Services: We can assess and make appropriate professional referrals to help individuals dealing with a wide range of work and life concerns, such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, domestic violence, bereavement, alcohol and substance abuse and more.
2. Work-Life Balance Assistance: Our EAP can provide guidance and resources to help you manage your work-life balance effectively, including parenting support, elder care resources, and financial resources. We also work closely with the University Wellness Program, Healthier U. See the website HERE for more information on our campus wellness programming.
3. Supervisory Consultations: EAP offers confidential consultations to supervisors who would like assistance in referring an employee to EAP or in managing departmental issues. We can assist supervisors in developing an appropriate plan to assess departmental or individual issues and provide referral resources where appropriate.
4. Hardship Fund: A program available to assist eligible faculty and staff who are experiencing a personal financial emergency and who have exhausted all other avenues for obtaining assistance.
All of the services offered by our EAP are completely confidential and available to you and your immediate family members at no cost. Your privacy and well-being are our top priorities.
Taking care of your well-being is important to us, and we encourage you to take advantage of this valuable benefit. To access our EAP, simply call 631-632-6085 or email eap@stonybrook.edu.
Remember, you don't have to face life's challenges alone. Our EAP is here to support you every step of the way. We care about your well-being and are committed to providing you with the resources and support you need.
If you have any questions or need further information about our EAP, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Alexis Rodgers, LMSW
