Laurie Graziano

Instructor, Special Education
MS, Adelphi University

Laurie Graziano has been a Special Education Teacher in various school districts in Long Island, NY for over 20 years. She has provided Special Education Services to children, grades K-12. She has BS in Elementary/Special Education from St. John’s University. Her graduate degree, attained at Adelphi University, is a MS in Reading. In addition to certifications in Special Education and Reading, she holds a NYS Common Branch certification. Ms. Graziano has served as a mentor for the New York State Mentor Teacher Intern Program. She served as Chairperson for the Multicultural Committee for Valley Stream Central School District. In addition, Ms. Graziano served as a Parent Member on the Shared Decision Making committee.

Ms. Graziano joined Stony Brook University in 2008 and has taught various courses, which include Multimedia Classroom, Infusing Technology into the Classroom and Principles and Practices of Special Education. She has also taught Special Education, and Nutrition courses at Dowling College, Tuoro College, and the College of New Rochelle.

Prior to a career in Education, Ms. Graziano worked as a Manager of Training and Development for a major telecommunications company.
