Dr. Amith Maroli, Postdoctoral Associate
Dr. Amith Maroli is a Postdoctoral Associate with the CCWT. Dr. Maroli has a M.S. in Molecular Biology and Human Genetics from
Manipal University (2010) and a M.Phil. in Genomics from Central University of Kerala
(2012). He further pursued his Ph.D. research in Plant and Environmental Science at
Clemson University (2017), with a focus on understanding the herbicide resistance
physiology of weeds and deciphering the detoxification pathway and fate of herbicides.
Following this, he pursued Postdoctoral research at the Department of Environmental
Engineering, Clemson University (2018) developing novel treatment methods for removing
PFAS from water systems. Before joining CCWT, Dr. Maroli was a Metabolomics/Proteomics
Research Specialist at the Center for Integrated Biomolecular Communication, University
of Nebraska-Lincoln. His primary role in this position was developing NMR and Mass
spectrometry based analytical methods for quantifying small molecules and proteins
from various sample sources. Additionally, his secondary role as an instrumental analyst
provided him with extensive experience in instrument (LCMS/GCMS/NMR) maintenance and
troubleshooting instrument issues.
