Carlos Trevino

Carlos TrevinoCarlos E. Trevino is a business leader with over 16 years of experience in the energy sector and heavy industries, specializing in the energy transition with a focus on emerging technologies, legacy power systems, and critical minerals.

He currently serves as Vice President at Newlab, a Series-A innovation, venture, and investment firm dedicated to deep tech sectors in energy, mobility, and materials science. The firm has raised over $40 million, made 60+ startup investments, attracted more than 3,000 startups, and directly supported over 200 in accelerating product development. Newlab has mobilized $3.8 billion in venture capital, driving a cumulative value exceeding $14.1 billion.  

Carlos has also held engineering, technology, strategy and business development roles with Fortune 500 companies, including Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ Energy Transition subsidiary and in the oil and gas industry.

He holds a Master’s degree with concentration in Economics & Management Science from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Purdue University.
