Dr. Christine Gilbert is an assistant professor for both the School of Communication and Journalism and Alda Center for Communicating Science and the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences.

Her scholarly interest is communication of climate change risks, including extreme weather events such as wildfires and flooding, through both quantitative and mixed-method approaches. Dr. Gilbert researches public uncertainty and fear/anxiety/confusion surrounding the most actual scientific topic such as AI, renewable energy (e.g., the impact of wind turbines), or the COVID-19 vaccine.

Dr. Gilbert knows how important it is for scientists to be clear and transparent while speaking about these topics to build trust and avoid public doubt and concern.
