Mary Strain  leads business development activities for artificial intelligence and machine learning for education at AWS. Mary began her career as a middle school teacher in The Bronx, NY. Since that time, she has had leadership roles in educational technology, curriculum, professional and workforce development projects. Mary has advised several state and higher education institutions on the adoptions of competency based learning, digital credentials, innovation, licensing and regulatory solutions and workforce development. Mary was an advisor to The University of Pennsylvania Education Design Studio, The Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color and LRNG. As an advisor to educational technology firms, higher education institutions and state agencies, Mary has been on the leading edge of bringing innovative technology to the public sector for two decades.  Mary has a BA from Fordham University and an MPA from The City University of NY.
