Dr. Manoj Mahajan is a former federal government agency program manager, R&D Scientist (computer vision, neural networks, and atmospheric science) specializing in satellite geospatial & imagery analysis, special operations technology, entrepreneurship, and U.S. strategic defense and security policy. He currently works as Stony Brook University CEWIT's Senior Research Scientist with an appointment in the College of Business. He holds a guest appointment with the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory and represents Stony Brook University diplomatically, specifically working with technology companies for university-industry commercialization projects and economic development. In addition, he is the Director of Stony Brook University's Defense and Intelligence Innovation Fund and regularly attends philanthropic engagements worldwide to further STEM education and commercialization of laboratory research with industry partners. Some of the areas of focus are cyber security, analytic tools, aerospace, AI, ML, and NLP.

Dr. Mahajan's goal is to 'get the research out of the lab and into the hands of the end-user - whether it is  a warfighter or hedge fund portfolio manager.'
