Lloyd Treinish is Chief Scientist for Climate and Weather at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. His research interests include environmental modelling, visualization, remote sensing, and scientific data models. His earlier work included electric grid resiliency and integration of renewable energy resources. More recently he extended it to modelling of lake watersheds for water quality. He is part of the DOE-funded Southwest Urban Corridor Integrated Field Laboratory led by Arizona State University. He is a member of AGU, AMS, ACM, ACM SIGGRAPH (Computer Graphics Pioneer) and IEEE Computer Society (Visualization Pioneer). He is a member of the EPA Board of Scientific Counselors Climate Change Subcommittee and the Strategic Partnerships Committee for the Stony Brook School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences. He is a sector advisor to the NY State Climate Impacts Assessment Board. He is the Chair of the Board of Directors for the WaterRising Institute.
